I provide design and construction drawings for new houses, remodeling and additions.  Projects range from large custom homes over 10,000 square feet to small room additions and garages. Each project is important regardless of size and I give each client personalized service and I pay attention to every detail.

I understand that we are designing the house for you and not me. Therefore I put your wants and needs above my own ideas.  Your plan will be designed to fit the way you live and reflect your unique personal tastes.  If you look through my portfolio, you will see a wide range of styles both in appearance and function.  The floor plans are all laid-out to conform to each clients lifestyle while the exterior is designed to look exactly the way they want.  Each home is also designed to fit into its surroundings and reflect the design of other homes in the community.  Because each client is unique, every plan I design is unique.  Your plan will be unique as well, reflecting your personality and the way you will interact with the home.

I am not a fan of “cookie cutter houses”.  If you are taking the time (and expense) of building a home, why not have it exactly the way you want it?  There are a lot of plans that may have a good basic layout and, at first glance, work perfectly for you but if you look closer, you will always find room to improve.  From the layout of the kitchen to the amount of closet space to the size of a particular room, each detail is important.  I will work with you to find out how you will use the house and design it to fit your lifestyle.  The phrase “measure twice, cut once” applies here.  It is easier to draw a new plan and come up with new ideas on paper than to have to remodel a house you just built because you overlooked some “small” detail.

Because the house is being designed for you, I don't expect to get it perfect on the first try (although I sometimes do).  That is why I offer unlimited redesign for a flat fee.  I will modify the plan as many times as it takes until it is exactly what you want.  You can even take your preliminary plans to family, friends, or even your builder to get their input.  We can then discuss their ideas and incorporate them into the plan. 

Obviously budget is always a concern.  Even if a plan is designed to fit within a specific budget, each contractor charges differently.  Changing labor rates, increases in pricing during busy times and fluctuations in lumber costs can all affect the amount it will cost to build your home.  This is where “unlimited redesign” can really help you.  Once we've created a preliminary design that you like, take it to your favorite builder (or several) and get an estimate.  If we need to modify the plan to cut costs, we will do that for no additional fee. 

I also stand behind my plans.  The construction drawings will be drawn to comply with your local building codes.  If your building inspector requires changes to the plan, I will make the changes for no additional fee.

Personal Information:  I attended "Dunwoody College of Technology" in Minneapolis, MN and graduated in 1996 with a degree in "Architectural Drafting & Estimating". I have designed hundreds of houses in nearly all 50 states and 5 other countries. I am married and have 7 beautiful children.
